Ariconium Challenge 2011
THANK YOU
TO ALL WHO TOOK PART IN THE 2011 ARICONIUM CHALLENGE ON SATURDAY 11TH JUNE
34 walkers tackled the two courses of the 2011 Ariconium Challenge. Entrants came from as far away as Bristol, Bromgrove and Cardiff as well as the local area; they were of all ages between 11 and 70+. A high proportion opted for the guelling 20 mile course which included climbing to the top of May Hill in addition to visiting all six churches of the benefice.
Particular mention should be given to the younger walkers especially Liam Cornwall (12) who walked the 15 mile route with his grandfather Keith raising significant sponsorship for Lea Church. Edward Spindler (11) who registered for the 15 mile walk but en-route changed to the 20 miles course and Sophie Wilkes (13) and Amy Cross (13) who finished the 20 mile course with a competitive sprint up the village hall car park.
This event is still in its infancy and we hope to develop it in the forthcoming years, so please join us in 2012.
